“I believe our most important purpose in life is to find internal joy, self-acceptance and love while maintaining a healthy, functioning body. When you have all of those working in alignment, you achieve optimum health--and you enrich the lives of those around you.”
- Miranda Morrison
Helping people lead better lives through better health has been my passion for almost two decades. My happiest moments are seeing the amazing, inspiring transformations my clients make as they pursue their individual health and fitness goals and, most importantly, create change that brings joy to their lives.
I have lived in the Vancouver area all my life, where I was crazy active in sports as a kid. Later I attended SFU on a soccer and academic scholarship. One of my most rewarding and enriching experiences was playing for the SFU Varsity Soccer Team which went on to win Nationals in 2000. The life lessons in discipline, health and camaraderie, and the friendships, are still with me. I count on them every day.
I graduated in 2002 with a B.Sc. in Kinesiology and a Nutrition Certification. I then played elite soccer for the Vancouver Angels, the first women’s Vancouver semi-pro team. Sadly, illness interrupted the career I loved. I never returned.
Over the next few years, I faced a difficult phase of personal and health issues. Through self-discovery and recovery, I realized my passion was health and fitness. I vowed that my purpose in life would be to use what I learned in my own painful journey to help others pursue lifelong, positive relationships with their bodies.
My experience as an athlete, the injuries and training, the relationships with movement and food, have blended well with my life challenges and ongoing education as a Kinesiologist. I’ve learned that everyone has an element of rehabilitation, whether from a previous or current situation or injury. By improving overall body awareness, I’ve learned that anyone can train to be more active, to move better and to engage in improved fitness and function and build the healthy habits to remain fit. Everyone has the potential to be their own athlete, to function independently, to become stronger and fitter--which almost always equates to a better, more fulfilling and happier life.
I work with my clients both individually and in small groups. The groups generate community and support which contributes to better health in many ways. I create a safe environment where I can assess, correct and educate people on connecting with their minds and bodies.
My ultimate goal is to help you find a healthy balance that suits your lifestyle and engages your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. I believe the sole purpose in life is internal joy, self love and acceptance and function. When you have all of those working in alignment, you've achieved health. And there is truly nothing more important and self fulfilling.
I look forward to helping you.
